Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • 9x5-inch Loaf Pan
  • Oven

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar or substitute with honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk or buttermilk for extra moisture

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon optional

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  • Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Whisk until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined. If using walnuts or chocolate chips, fold them in now.
  • Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use overripe bananas. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and fluffy. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
